Vision and Mission

Footscray Primary School: An Authorised International Baccalaureate -
Primary Years Program World School

At Footscray Primary School, our central purpose is "Learning for Living". Our IB Primary Years Program is central to building cultural respect and understanding. This is a multi-layered curriculum which develops knowledge, skills and intercultural understandings, and also fosters important attitudes and approaches to learning for the twenty-first century.

We offer a host of dynamic programs including play-based learning in Prep, African drumming and our Vietnamese bilingual immersion program. We value each student as an individual with a unique mixture of skills and talents. Our aim for our students is for them to develop the confidence they need to thrive in our fast-changing world.

From the Principal

At Footscray Primary School our focus is on students as individuals. Every student is unique with a mixture of skills, talents and abilities. We also believe that learning throughout life is the key to success.

We welcome international students to our school. We offer an international curriculum and have recently undergone our IB Evaluation of the Primary Years Programme. Footscray is a culturally diverse area of Melbourne located 5 km from the CBD. More information about the dynamic area of Footscray can be found here.
